Flexsitez – Twitter Feed Settings *UPDATE*

Flexsitez – Twitter Settings

Due to some new Twitter changes, if the Twitter Feed is on used Flexsitez template, more information is now required in order for the feed to work correctly. 

To set the Twitter Feed:

Step1: Check the Flexsitez Version
For Flexsitez Version 1.77 or below
First, if applicable, run ALL available updates within your wp-admin. This includes WordPress version upgrades, plugin updates, and theme updates.
Then, contact support@portfoliositez.com to request the Twitter update fix. Once we have confirmed that the Twitter update fix has been added, continue to step 2.

For Flexsitez Version 1.78 and above
The Twitter fix is include in the 1.78 version update so there is no need to contact us to fix this issue. Continue to step 2.


Step2 - Login to Twitter and Create the App 

Log into your Twitter account here https://dev.twitter.com/apps to create your app. 

Once you have logged in, you will see a screen similar to this:

 

Click the ‘Create a new app’ button.

Fill in all of the fields, read through the Developer Rules of the Road (don’t forget to check the ‘Yes, I agree’ box), and click ‘Create your Twitter application’ button at the bottom.



The Next screen you see will provide several tabs with a great deal of information about your new app:

 
 
Click on the "Settings Tab" and check the "Allow this application to be used to Sign in with Twitter" and click "Update Settings"

Next, click on the "API Keys" tab 
You will want use the "Create my access token" button at the bottom of the page to create the access token you will need.
 
 
 
You WILL have to either refresh the page or use the "refresh" link provided in the twitter message at the top of the page in order to see the token values.

Still on the API tab after refreshing,  locate the API key (formerly Consumer key, API Secret (formerly Consumer secret) , Access tokenAccess token secret , Owner and copy & paste those details into the fields in the wp-admin:

 
Step3: Enter the new values into the wp-admin under Flexsitez>Twitter Feed Settings



Make sure you SAVE YOUR SETTINGS!
