Domain Name Registrar Recommendations

We recommend Name Cheap (http://namecheap.com) for your domain name registration needs because this is the best price we have found for the service. However, if you already have a name registered or have found another company you like they will also work, just follow their instructions for pointing the domain name's nameservers to another server (for more information on what nameservers are and what they are used for click here).

For portfoliositez hosting customers: The nameservers that you will want to use to point your domain name to your site are provided to you in the welcome email that you received when your template was installed.

For owned license customers: The nameservers you will want to use to point your domain name to your template will need to be provided to you by your web hosting company.

It is a good idea to have your domain name contain either your name or your company’s name. This will make it easier for your potential clients to find your sight through any search engine.

We highly recommend that you renew the registration of your domain name yearly to insure that there is no lapse in your website uptime.

We highly recommend that your domain name be purchased prior to ordering a site so that the hosting account is setup to work with that domain name. It does not, however, need to point to our servers until after you are ready for your site to go live.
