Verifying your site with Google
Posted by - NA - on 12 August 2010 11:24 AM

In order to verify your site with Google, you will need to obtain the meta code (through your Google Account) that you can enter into your site.

To add and verify a site:

  1. Sign into Google Webmaster Tools with your Google Account.
  2. Click Add a site, and type the URL of the site you want to add. Make sure you type the entire URL, such as http://www.example.com/
  3. Click Continue. The Site verification page opens.
  4. (Optional) In the Name box, type a name for your site (for example, My Blog).
  5. Select the verification method you want, and follow the instructions.

With our Generation I templates (Diego, Ansel, Dorothea, Frida, Maya and blogsites) the code has to be manually inserted into the index or header file. We can do this for you if you submit a ticket. With the Generation II templates (Jackson, Henri, Carl, and Elena and so on...) this can be done directly from the sitezadmin. If you go into the Edit Statistics section, you can insert the meta code into the 'Validation box'. Once you do this Google will crawl your site and your site will be verified with them. =)
