NOTE: Some programming knowledge is required! We recommend this for advanced users only!!
You can upload a custom splash page to your site if you would prefer not to use the one provided. A splash page will need to be named either index.php or index.html to ensure it shows up first. Below are general steps to help you upload your custom splash page.
1. Log onto your site via ftp (ftp login information is provided in your welcome email)
2. Go to public_html/ and rename the current index.php to something else to prevent it from being overwritten, we recommend indexOLD.php
3. Upload the new index.php or index.html file and any image files associated with it directly in the public_html folder
Below are some links to help you make sure your splash page connects to the site properly:
Flash site: index2.php (ex. <a href="index2.php">)
HTML mirror: (Generation I Hybrid Flash Templates ONLY): htmlsite/ (ex. <a href="htmlsite/">)
If you do not feel comfortable building your own custom splash page, we recommend checking out a third party company such as http://kimtown.com/design/
You are also welcome to use the Portfoliositez custom splash page! Learn more about that here: http://www.portfoliositez.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=431
And, if you are using one of our new HTML5 templates, please review this article: http://www.portfoliositez.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=485
